Microscope Setup
This is a diagram of the microscope setup.
A semiconductor laser is used as the light source.
To reduce the size of the illuminated spot, the laser beam is focused with a lens.
The flat pH sensor was placed on an XY stage and scanned 2-dimensionally enabling
the illuminated spot to be scanned. The flat pH sensor was placed on an XY stage

The sensor is connected to an electrical circuit incorporating a potentiostat
and a IV converter.
The stage scanning, laser control and signal acquisition functions are all performed
using a personal computer. |
