pH Imaging Sensor

This shows the structure of the sensor. The sensor
is fixed in a plastic holder so that the holder forms the cell wall. The 27 mm
by 27 mm area of the electrolyte sample comes in contact with the sensor and the
sensor is divided by multiple measurement points and then, pH is measured at each
point. Therefore, pH distribution in the electrolyte can be observed. The pH value
at each point is sent to the control unit and then processed to pH image. These
two electrodes are used to function this sensor based on electrochemical-semiconductor
principle. The addition of 0.1 M potassium chloride helps to stabilize the signal
output
The feature of this microscope is use of the flat pH imaging sensor, enabling
pH distribution in a semi-solid electrolyte solution such as agar film can be
detected and observed. How we can take advantage of this feature is presented
in the next slide. . |
