HORIBA to Advance into the Lifestyle-related Disease Field in Earnest
The company has acquired small-size blood sugar meter business rights from Sankyo, aiming to enlarge its medical business

HORIBA, Ltd. has recently reached a basic agreement with Sankyo Co., Ltd. (headquarters in Tokyo) to purchase all rights related to ANTSENSE and consumable goods for use therewith. ANTSENSE is a small-size blood sugar meter for professional use at medical institutes. Starting in April 2004, HORIBA will market the products, currently sold as Sankyo brands, as its own. Furthermore, HORIBA plans to launch new products into the market and strengthen its lifestyle-related disease field with an expanded product lineup.
