Developed by Retsch Technology and distributed by HORIBA INSTRUMENTS, the Crystalsizer utilizes incoherent light scattering to measure particle size of dry powders in the 0.7 to 2500 µm range. A LCD screen separates the light beam into different diameters. The light for a corresponding particle size is only scattered to the detector when the angle of diffraction matches the corresponding light scatter diameter. Dry powder samples are fed into the sensing zone from a software-controlled vibratory feeder, where they are analyzed continuously during the measurement period. An optional compressed air feed is available to disperse agglomerated powders.
The Crystalsizer is equipped with an easy-to-operate, yet versatile quality software package. Powerful data analysis and reporting capabilities allow the user to specify exactly the information required.
The Crystalsizer would be ideal for customers who:
- use sieves for measuring particle size and want to improve their measurement capabilities and speed of analysis
- already use laser diffraction particle size analyzers and want to add dry powder analysis capability
- specialize in fields where dry particles are the only samples tested
