Particle Size Automation
HORIBA's highly reliable Analyzers handle a wide range of particle sizes without switching lenses or ranges, making it a perfect candidate for true hands-free automation. Adding the various automation options provides all the advantages of continuous, non-stop, unattended operation. These include reduced labor costs, elimination of human error and exceptionally reliable, repeatable measurements. Also, measurement can easily take place during non-peak hours, increasing system availability and productivity. As a result, users report that the system pays for itself in three to six months.
SlurrySampler - Automatic sampling, dispersion, and dilution of up to samples
The SlurrySampler allows the user to supply wet slurry samples directly from the process line to the autosampler, without need for dilution, sub-sampling, or other sample handling. The SlurrySampler uses a robotic arm with a mixer to agitate the sample dispersion, remove a set volume of sample dispersion and supply the sample to the analyzer.
Together with the automation built in to the LA-920, LA-910 and LA-300 analyzers, the entire sample handling and analysis procedure can be completely automated. The user is only required to place the sample container in the SlurrySampler, enter the sample name, select a condition file, and identify the location of the sample on the platform.
All steps of the analysis, from adding dispersant medium, circulation, ultrasonic treatment, to sample concentration adjustment, measurement, data storage and printing, are handled without any operator involvement.
The combination of this autosampler and HORIBA's well-regarded particle size analysis systems allows particle size analyses of samples to cover the 0.02-2,000 micron range in as little as three minutes per sample.
Automation has the advantages of reducing costs and manpower requirements, as well as improved reproducibility of sample analysis.
AutoSampler - Automatic injection and measurement of up to 24 samples
The HORIBA system is ideal for analysis and particle control in such high-tech applications as ceramics and polymers, where precision and accuracy are critical.
The Autosampler provides continuous, unattended control of the system's fill, dilute, circulate, drain and rinse functions. Simply put in the sample and instruct the system to conduct the measurement sequence. The 24-position, carrousel-type autosampler is suited to a wide range of materials and applications.

AutoReservoir and AutoFill - Automatic fluid supply for analyzers and autosamplers
The AutoReservoir and AutoFill supply the fluid required for operation of the AutoSampler and SlurrySampler. On a stand-alone basis, they work in conjunction with the software's automation features to automate such features as automatic sample dilution and rinse cycles. The software allows all steps of the sample analysis sequence to be automated with the exception of adding the sample. |
