Life cycle Assessment
In modern society, just about every thing is mass produced and mass
consumed. There are lives in these things from their birth to death.
Produced from material, used by people, and scraped. The way that thinking
how to use things efficiently through analyzing these life of things is
called Life cycle Assessment, LCA for short.
For example, explaining ecology unit with cars, there are following steps
in life of cars.
Manufacturing : Consumption of metal, resin, and electricity.
Utility : Consumption of fuel, expendable such as tires.
Maintenance and construction of roads.
Scrap : Energy consumption for collecting scraps and materials.
Well, you may wonder how big is this chain of events in terms of energy.
Actually, a result of study is reported, so let's refer to it. The
following table compares the amount of carbon dioxide substituted for
energy that needed in many processes.
Glancing at these numbers, you can say that it is more efficient to improve3% of fuel expenses than to reduce 10% of energy consumption inmanufacturing process to reduce the influence of cars to environment.
