HORIBA's MESA-500 is an x-ray element analyzer, and uses the same mechanism of x-Ray analysis as the EMAX. Unlike the EMAX, which uses electrons issued from the electron microscope to analyze the µm part, our Simple Element Analyzer uses x-rays with ø 5 mm, issued from the x-ray tube (tube valve radiating x-ray), for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
HORIBA's Simple Element Analyzer allows you to study a solid object by simply placing it directly within the analyzer and powders or liquids when they are contained within a cell. Like EMAX, this analyzer can be used for nondestructive analysis, including archeological research, R&D, quality control (especially for quality control in manufacturing processes), and so on. Moreover, our Simple Element Analyzer is used for pre-analysis, prior to the use of an atomic absorptiometer -- which measures mass ppm order (density) -- or an ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer).
